Bio-Warefare is a real time action mod being developed by CryMod community member dgoeck. Here is a text exctacted from the mod's story, to read the entire thing you'll have to click on the comment button below.Bio-Warfare takes place in September of 2009. A group of Russian decent men and women inhabit an island way of the coast from UK / France in 1975; where they contacted people from all over the world until 2000 that they were starting a new peaceful tropical life. They would tell you that they had everything covered, you would receive a job, a house, a car, food & drinks for your entire stay on the island. Also all your basic needs would be met, movie theater, hair salon, spa, grocery store, gas station etc... There would also be a government, police force, firefighter force and army placed on the island for your safety. Here are 4 WIP screenshots, just for your viewing pleasure.
For all the details you'll have to see the forum thread, enjoy!

US, April 7, 2008 - Take the engine that powered last year's dazzling (and resource heavy) Crysis and put it in the hands of other developers and what do you get? That's the question that Crytek is looking to answer as it pushes into the business of providing middleware to other developers with its powerful CryENGINE 2 technology. What does CryENGINE have to offer, and can it work on the consoles? And what's up next for Crytek? We took those questions and more to Harald Seeley, the engine business manager for Crytek. As a treat, Crytek also gave us a video shown at this year's Game Developers Conference that demonstrates the powerful and flexibility of CryENGINE 2. The video is essentially a recreation of the 2005 Sony Bravia commercial that featured 250,000 brightly colored rubber balls bouncing their way down the steep hills of San Francisco. In the case of the CryEngine 2 demonstration, this time it's teapots. We talked with Harald Seeley, Engine Business Manager for Crytek. According to Seeley, his role at Crytek is to, "is to manage the licensing and support team who are responsible for providing the CryENGINE 2 to third party developers." Video Games Explode: Global Revenues Now on Par with Box Office Video game software sales are finally matching up with the entire film industry at the global box office. Analyst Daniel Ernst forecasts global game revenues to grow even higher this year. In a new report from Hudson Square Research on the outlook for the 2009 fiscal year in the video game sector, analyst Daniel Ernst notes that the video game industry's recent surge has finally allowed it to catch up to the movie business on a global basis. For the fiscal year ended this March, global video game (software) revenues grew 38 percent. Global software sales reached $26.5 billion , only slightly behind the film industry's $26.7 billion . "Gutenberg's press supplanted the oral story, the television supplanted the radio, the Internet is supplanting the newspaper, and the DVR is supplanting the network schedule. Consumers are increasingly in control of their media experience - narrowing in on what they consume, where they consume it, and when they consume it. We see interactive entertainment (video games) as an extension of that control, where the protagonist, settings, and outcomes are dictated not by the author or screenwriter, but by the players themselves," noted Ernst. He added, "While the film industry's set of home movie windows provides another leg of growth equal to or greater than box office sales, we believe the rise of video games to the same revenue stature provides a notable perspective." Over the current 2009 fiscal year , Ernst anticipates global software revenues to climb another 31 percent to $34.6 billion . Hardware revenue, on the other hand, will see a slight (five percent) decline to $18.9 billion.

Welcome to the Crysis Weekly Update #10 , an official status report from Crytek to the world-wide community in order to get you up-to-date on the progress of various Crysis related topics. The todays update is about introducing you to a new patch that is in development for Crysis. In addition we also address the mysterious “Hash Mismatch” issue which is responsible for kicking players from online servers. Also we give you the chance to frag us on the official Crytek test server. And last but not least we also got a brand new episode of our Crysis outtakes prepared for you.Crysis New Patch in Development In an earlier weekly update we already confirmed that Crytek will continue working on patches for Crysis and supporting the community with new updates. Currently our Multiplayer dev team is fully concentrating on the upcoming Patch 1.3. It has been in development for quite a few weeks already, but we do not have a release date available just yet. As for the content we can already say a bit, but not that much. The patch will not only include bug fixes and further gameplay balancing, we will also introduce new features to it. Unfortunately we cannot tell you too much about the content at this point, but be sure to not miss out the upcoming weekly update next Wednesday since it will include more news and details on the content itself. For more info, press comment.
Crysis Cryteks Test Game Server With today we would like to introduce you to our new game server called Crytek Testserver v1.21 . It is patched to version 1.21 and can be joined by every client. This game server is located at Crytek’s office in Frankfurt and helps us identifying and locating several server related problems such as crashes, random client kicks and more. With the upcoming days and weeks we will track the complete traffic of the machine and evaluate the .log files it creates. Still we do need the help of the community for this task. If you have some time left feel free to join the server at any time and play a round or two. The more players we can get and the longer the server is full the easier it is for the developers to stabilize the server code. As for the map cycle it will switch between the complete PowerStruggle and InstantAction level rotation. We start the server with PowerStruggle and will move on to InstantAction maps in a few days. From time to time we will also have a few developers playing on the server for some live monitoring of the status. In the case you wanted to kick our asses – this is the best time to do so. The Crytek crew will be marked as such when playing on the server, so you cannot miss them!Crysis – Anti-Cheat Status Since patch 1.2 many things have been improved regarding anti-cheat solutions in Crysis. Several Punkbuster GUIDs from known cheaters and those who develop cheats will receive a global GUID ban from Crysis within the next days. This makes it impossible for them to play on PB secured game server again. The current situation has gone better, but still we will continue working together with Evenbalance and PunksBusted.com to improve the cheat protection and make the online gaming even more enjoyable.1. Custom Mod Files - Clarification The internal anti-cheat protection that has been introduced with patch 1.2 is comparing files and will check if these files have been altered by a player. If this is the case the player will be kicked, but not banned from the server. Players won’t be banned for modified lasers, custom models or other modifications, but we recommend to not changing any kind of original files in your Game folder. If you want to modify something please use the Mod folder for this and backup your existing files. For the entire news segment, click comment.
